Mobile Boardwalk 2.0 & Other support services (2021)

Community development has become an important part of our practice. Irvin Green Consulting has supported public art projects that assisted small businesses during the pandemic. The 75th Street Mobile Boardwalk was a staple on Chicago’s southside to keep businesses open and customers happy. Irvin Green Consulting oversaw the project management needed for the installation and deconstruction of the 75th Street Mobile Boardwalk 2.0. This included hiring, training, scope and budget management, risk planning and more. We also managed public safety meetings, community charettes, various programs, stakeholder collaboration, and grant management and compliance. We also provided custom GIS maps for socioeconomic data analysis and housing market assessments.

We served as the primary grant writer, securing over $500,000 in grant funding for neighborhood stabilization, youth restorative justice initiatives, and small business technical support.

Technical Support for the Roseland Medical District (2021)

Irvin Green Consulting assisted in the early stages of the planning for the Roseland Medical District, located on the far south side of Chicago. We provided socioeconomic demographic analysis, land use, and neighborhood asset mapping to assess the current conditions of the surrounding community areas. This project helped highlight recent development in the area and identify potential opportunities for additional investment. This provided supporting documentation for grant applications.

Small business Technical Support & consulting (2021 - 2022)

Small businesses are an integral part of the economy, and strong businesses understand their competitors, market, and customers. Sometimes these businesses do not have the capacity to fully assess their place in the market. Irvin Green Consulting provided small business assessments to minority and women-owned businesses located within the geographic service area for the Chicago Minority Supplier Development Council. We identified target markets, primary and secondary competitors, community assets, and public financing tools to help these businesses garner a deeper understanding of their strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats.
